Peacock has once again delivered a fantastic episode of Vampire Academy! There was action, romance, and Rose confronting her grief over Mikhail. ‘Molnija’ was written by Y. Shireen Razack, and directed by Erica Dunton.
The Royal Tour | It is customary for Dhampir’s to get special tattoos called Molnija to mark the strigoi they have killed. It’s time for Rose (Sisi Stringer) to get her first, but she can’t do it. Killing Mikhail was too painful and she doesn’t want to honor him in that way. Mia (Mia McKenna-Bruce) gets in trouble for using her magic against Jesse Zeklos (Joseph Ollman) and can no longer go on the Royal Tour, so Sonya (Jonetta Kaiser) takes her place.
On the Tour, they are at a party in the area where Mikhail was from, so Rose gets herself put onto Dimitri’s relocation team in order to see and speak with his sister and father. Sasha, Mikhail’s sister, was very upset when she first saw Rose, but she eventually gets over the anger and ends on good terms with her friend. Mikhail’s father tells Rose that she should get the Molnija to honor his life, not what he became before death.
Every night the Strigoi go to Sasha’s town on the hunt, Rose and Dimitri fight the nights Strigoi off together. In the morning Rose reveals to Dimitri that she let Sasha run instead of being relocated. Dimitri isn’t happy, but covers for her with his superiors by saying Sasha died fighting off Strigoi.
When back at St. Vlad’s, Rose lets Dimitri give her her Molnija. And after, they share a super steamy kiss. Finally!
Attack | Back at the party, Jesse has decided he wants to leave early and makes Lissa (Daniela Nieves), Meredith (Rhian Blundell), Eddie (Blake Patrick Anderson), and one other go with them. They get ambushed by Strigoi and Meredith gets injured pretty badly. Lissa tries to heal her, but just as she starts a Dhampir team (sent by Rose and Dimitri) comes to the rescue and rushes Meredith off. Lissa blames Jesse for this attack, all because he wanted to leave the party early.
Lissa ends up at the party that she wanted to attend, she meets Andre (jason Diaz) and learns that he’s a Spirit user as well. He can dreamwalk like St. Vladimir could.
Darkness | Sonya’s darkness is catching up to her. Tatiana (Anita-Joy Uwajeh) lies about Mikhail and that makes Sonya angry. So angry that her darkness turns her almost beast-like and she attacks Tatiana in front of everyone. Definitely not good.
