The tenth installment of this season of Wynonna Earp was quite a wild ride! We meet Kevin, The Earp sister’s get their own adventure, and Nicole gets possessed by a teenage ghost-witch! ‘The Other Woman’ was written by Noelle Carbone and directed by April Mullen.
Back in Time | The episode opens with a flashback from Purgatory in 1887, we see Juan Carlos (Shaun Johnson) with a woman we later find out is named Maeve (Sydney John) and Robert Svain (Michael Eklund) in the old church. JC asks Maeve to hide his journal and then tells Robert Svain that they need to get Peacemaker to the champion, but it’s not a gun that we see. Instead JC is holding a big pointy sword.
In reality, Bobo (Michael Eklund) is attempting to recount this memory to Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano), but is really struggling to do so. One thing he is very sure of, is that hope is gone.
Elsewhere at a mine, a person exits in a bright yellow suit. When they remove it we see that it’s the beautiful Anna Silk inside! And we soon find out that Anna’s character’s name is Kevin.
At BBD headquarters, Jeremy (Varun Saranga) and Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) decide they need a recap of all that’s happened to help them figure everything out. What it all boils down to is that Bulshar is using people-trees to locate the Garden of Eden, which happens to contain the Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge. Bobo interrupts to tell them to ask Doc (Tim Rozon) about a witch and Juan Carlos [the flashback from the beginning], so Waves sends Nicole (Katherine Barrell) on a mission to figure out what Bobo means.

Earp Sisters Adventure | Back at the Homestead, Wynonna checks out some mysterious noises coming from the barn and finds Charlie (Sebastian Pigott) in there fixing her lawnmower. Even though it’s basically always winter in Purgatory. He attempts to flirt, but romance is the last thing on Wynonna’s mind with the possible end of the world in sight.
Wynonna hears another noise and goes out to discover our new pal Kevin on the porch. Kevin says she’s there to help Wynonna save the world. But she won’t go into details with Charlie there. Charlie gets all whiny and “what about me” when Wynonna tells him to go, but really IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU CHARLIE.
When she goes back inside, Waverly is there with Kevin who finally explains why she’s there. Kevin is a WorldSaver and tells the sisters they need to find Bulshar’s magical arm in a mine close by, but only a Champion can retrieve it. The Earp girls go off to retrieve it, and Kevin smirks after them, betting they’ll die in the process.
Waves and Wyn get to the mine and discuss Mercedes’ return and the status of her face. Then they see a radioactive revenant exit the mine and roar. Waverly recognizes the revenant as One-Armed Clint, but he definitely has two arms. Then they realize only one of the arms is his, the other is Bulshar’s. Wynonna stabs the revenant in the neck with her keys, but due to his radioactivity her hand gets burned in the process and she passes out.
Waverly gets her sister up and they stumble down the road to Mercedes house, where they are greeted with a beautiful Mercedes (Dani Kind) who tells Waverly that she’s the one who fixed her face. They’ve got an angry radioactive revenant to deal with, so Waverly has a nice little chat with her ring pleading with it to help, and when she throws her arms in the air the revenant does the same. She realizes she controls Bulshar’s arm like a game on the Wii, so she makes him choke himself out long enough for them to get the arm.
Kevin shows up and is impressed with the Earp Sisters work, then she reveals that the champion is Waverly. The ring was Julian’s, and he and Juan Carlos were tasked with protecting the Garden. Kevin had to be sure Waverly could wield the power of the ring being only half-angel, and getting the arm was the proof she needed to confirm it. Waverly Earp is the one who can save them all! And it has to be done during the bloodmoon eclipse tomorrow.
Wynonna asks Kevin what the price is, and Kevin tells her that Waverly is the price. She will turn to stone. Wynonna [and everyone watching the episode] nope’d that ssssooooo hard. She will not allow her baby sister, pretty much the only god thing she has left, sacrifice herself. Waverly is unsure if she could do that either, so Kevin calls them selfish and leaves.
Later by the fireplace, the sister’s have a moment. Waverly says if she absolutely has to, she’ll sacrifice herself to save them all. But Wynonna tells her baby sister how much she’s lost and sacrificed, and Waverly is the only thing keeping her going and she can’t lose her too. They suddenly realize it’s still light outside even though it’s 9pm. This can’t be good.
Body Hopping | Nicole goes to Shorty’s and finds Doc downing a black market blood bag he bought so he wouldn’t have to kill, but he’s still hungry. Nicole asks him about Maeve, and Doc says she was a Perley, just like Mattie and Gretta, so naturally she was a witch as well. They decide to go to the Perley house to see what they can find, and Nicole lets Doc know she’s packing the kind of heat that could kill him if he gets out of line.
On the way, Doc fills Nicole in on Maeve: she wasn’t fond of men and helped with childbirths and abortions. The town called her a witch and burned her at the stake for it. When they get inside they realize Gretta has been gone for a while so they light a fire and are greeted with the spirit of Maeve in the fireplace. Maeve calls Doc “Wyatt Earp’s Boyfriend” and he doesn’t deny it! Then when Nicole tries talking to her, the witch’s spirit jumps into Nicole’s body, possessing her. Kat Barrell playing a Nicole possessed by a teenager is HILARIOUS. Doc knows he needs backup so he calls Jeremy, who was busy on a Bobo watching date with Robin (Justin Kelly).
Maeve really needs a freshly killed body that she can stay in forever, so when Jeremy gets there she tries him on for size, but says she needs someone who is fully human, so she hops back into Nicole. All Doc wants is Juan Carlos’ journal, but Maeve isn’t giving it up until she gets what she wants, but she does make Nicole cough up one page to prove she has it.
Finally, Maeve threatens to shoot Nicole in the head to kill her for the body, but Doc and Jeremy try to explain that a body with a hole in the head won’t do her much good. Maeve accidentally lets slip a hint about the journal’s whereabouts and they realize it is in the fireplace. Doc quickly grabs it and gives it to Jeremy before Maeve jumps out of Nicole, back into the fireplace, and blows the place up.
Since the Perley house is on fire, it’s only logical that Charlie gets sent there to help. Charlie drags Doc out of the fire, and Doc promptly takes a big bite out of his neck and drains Charlie.
Nicole finds him next to Charlie’s body and asks what happened? The hunger and fire were too much for Doc, and now Nicole, his last friend, has turned against him.
At BBD, Jeremy and Robin read the journal and learn who Bulshar really is, the snake that tempted Adam and Eve with the apple, the original Big Bad.
Later, Nicole and Jeremy are standing over Charlie’s body in the morgue, Nicole hoping Maeve has jumped into it or maybe he turned into a vampire, but no luck. Charlie seems to be dead dead.
