The CW’s The 100 hit the stage at WonderCon 2019 in Anaheim, CA and OMFGTV was in attendance! The panel kicked off with a screening of the upcoming season 6 premiere, which was totally amazing!
While I’m not going to give anything away right now, I will tell you that the episode was everything you would want in a season premiere and more. It also contains several callbacks to the pilot, which everyone seemed to love.
After the screening some of the cast along with the show’s creator Jason Rothenberg came out and let us in on a few things about the upcoming season. Here’s what we know:
[adinserter block=”3″]
- This was the hardest season for Jason to create. “We had to essentially re-pilot it in the time that you would normally have to just start.” They had weeks to create a whole new world and story, something that you would usually have months to do for a regular pilot.
- Jordan represents the humanity that is still inside of everyone else. “Jordan almost resembles part of the humanity that they have still inside them,” says Shannon Kook on his character. Jordan wants to honor his parents by being the good guys.
- Octavia and Bellamy still seem to have a rocky relationship, with Marie Avgeropoulos describing it as a “brother-sister rivalry to the max.”
- Murphy is going to have a crazy season according to Richard Harmon. “This is my favorite Murphy season.”
- We will be getting some of Echo’s backstory, finally!
- Jason explained the eclipse and what it does, “Whenever the suns come in alignment, the plants give off a toxin that drives everything on the planet insane.” Sounds fun.
- There will be lots of Big Bad’s this season, including the planet and that environment they are in.
- Clarke doesn’t have as much of a mothering role, she’s letting Maddie go a bit instead of being super overprotective.
- The Commander storyline is going to play an important role. “There’s a dark Commander,” teases Jason, “I think we see him in the trailer. But I can’t talk about him.”
- This season is Clarke’s craziest storyline yet, and she will face off with a crazy villain.
The 100 returns to The CW Tuesday April 30 at 9pm, don’t miss it!
