  • Season 6 begins one year after the season 5 finale. When asked how the events of “Avengers: Infinity War” will affect the show, Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said the time jump will set the show after the events of the upcoming “Avengers: Endgame,” which will debut in theaters weeks before the premiere.
  • The premiere builds up many mysteries that the audience won’t know the answers to right away, so don’t be surprised if the episode confuses you.
  • Coulson has died in the gap between seasons 5 and 6.
  • Simmons is becoming increasingly desperate to find her missing husband and is crossing a few lines in the process.
  • “Collateral’s” Barry Shabaka Henley will play a former colleague of May’s who helps the SHIELD team.
  • SHIELD agents Davis and Piper will return, along with a few new agents who are working under Mack as the new director of SHIELD.
  • The mysterious black haired, knife wielding woman glimpsed in the season’s trailer is one of the season’s new villains.
  • Jeff Ward’s Deke did not appear in the episode, despite his recent promotion to series regular. Ward joked that “This is the most you’ll see of me all season.”
  • Finally, viewers will see Clark Gregg’s unexpected return by the end of the episode, but it won’t be a pretty one…
