Witches of East End Season 2 Premiere Recap

Witches of East End returned last night with its season two premiere and what an exciting premiere it was!

While the premiere essentially lays down the groundwork for what’s to come in season two by showing us where we left off with these characters and the immediate aftermath of that, we also get introduced to a few new characters who are sure to bring some drama this season! Who stood out? Joanna’s son, of course! Talk about an OMFG moment! Is he good? Is he bad? What’s he doing here and what are his motives? Only time will tell.

For now, Joanna’s condition is worsening but Victor, who is now back in the picture, is by her side and if that’s not lovely watching Victor step up to the plate, I don’t know what is. One could say he’s making up for lost time with his daughters, Freya and and Ingrid but he’ so genuine and so in the now and such a natural, I don’t think that’s what this is at all. Victor finally has a chance to stand by his family and he’s stepped right up to the plate. That’s refreshing to see.

As for Ingrid and Freya… who do you think is watching Ingrid? This was implied through all of those creepy stalker camera angles and if that’s not the case, I don’t know what is. Could it be the man Wendy ran into at the library? That might be too easy of a set up already so hopefully not! One of my favorite aspects about this show are the elements of mystery and surprise. It would be a shame for the show to dip in those elements in season two. Especially since that’s all that’s going for Ingrid and her storyline at this point.

Meanwhile, Freya discovers that Killian is hurt and dying if not already dead. And Dash, who made it his mission to kill his own brother in the season finale is now being haunted by Killian and going crazy. As if that’s not already enough, Dash also discovers a bizarre connection to Ingrid. Basically, the premiere has given us enough revelations and new beginnings to keep us satisfied while also posing a ton of long-term and short-term questions that fans are dying to know the answers of. And let’s not forget about the odd creature at the end of the episode! Any ideas which one of the witches will run into that?!

We’ve been given just the right amount of familiarity and eyebrow raising circumstances to keep us watching. Simply put, “A Moveable Beast” was a great opening to what is sure to be a very juicy season!

Watch Witches of East End airs Sundays at 9/8c on Lifetime.
