Freeform just hit us with another fantastic episode of their new thriller The Watchful Eye. In this episode we meet the new doorman at the Greybourne, the nanny’s have a ghost cleanse to help with Elena’s Jocelyn problem, and the Ayers kids decide to throw a rager while their parents are out. ‘The Nanny Who Knew Too Much’ was written by Chloe Hung and directed by Charissa Sanjarernsuithikul.
The New Doorman | The Greybourne has a new doorman named Roman (Andres Velez). We find out at the end of the episode that he and Elena (Mariel Molino) know each other and she helped get him this job, but no one knows this. Elena’s been having nightmares and sees Jocelyn (Elyse Maloway) more frequently, is she being haunted by her or warned? Elena ends up opening up to Ginny (Aliyah Royale) about her ghost problem, and Ginny is surprisingly receptive and doesn’t shut down the thought of a ghost being in the attic with them.
Elena is trying real hard to get into Tory’s (Amy Acker) apartment to search more for the ruby, and finds the perfect opportunity when Tory and Dick (Christopher Redman) leave. She makes plans with Darcy (Megan Best) and Elliott (Lex Lumpkin) to watch a movie that night which will give her the opportunity to snoop more. But when movie time rolls around Elena is unable to go thanks to Ginny’s surprise.
Ghost Cleanse | Ginny, Kim (Clare Filipow), Alex (Baraka Rahmani), and even James (Lachlan Quarmby) show up at Elena’s door to help her cleanse her apartment of Jocelyn’s ghost. During this time we see lots of flirting between Ginny and Kim, and Alex and James. But James manages to pull Elena aside for a moment to talk to her about Morgan. His friend signed an NDA after working for the Wards, so whatever happened must have been pretty serious. At the end of the episode Elena receives a text from Morgan, she wants to meet and talk.

Elliott and Darcy hang out without Elena, but it’s definitely not a movie night. Bennet (Grace Kaufman) decided to throw a party so Elliott and Darcy get high together and then kiss. Darcy also shows Elliott some cool family items and reveals that the Greybourne is built on top of Foxhill Village, an old community that burned down.
Tory and Dick are returning from their night out earlier than expected so Elena, the nanny’s, and Roman help Darcy and Bennet quickly empty their apartment and clean.
Letters | Elena finds a Greybourne brochure in Tory’s desk and sees an image of Alistair Greybourne and Otis Winthrop on it, and both men have on something that looks very familiar. Elena goes to the lobby and looks at the painting she was previously comparing to the one in the basement, she pushes a small hidden button on the top that revealed a secret key.
Elena immediately knows it’s the key to the secret compartment in the basement and rushes down to open it. Elena is at first disappointed when she pulls out letters instead of the ruby, but once she reads the letters she knows they can help. The letters are between Alistair and Jocelyn, and they weren’t just your average letter, these were definitely love letters. From the letters Elena gathers that the ruby may be in the Chan’s apartment, and lucky for her Ginny works for them.
