“WandaVision” continues with “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” which takes us to the tubular 90s with the added bonus of Evan Peters’s return, which lives up to the hype in one of the show’s most enjoyable episodes so far. It’s Halloween in Westview and while Wanda and Pietro take the kids trick or treating, Vision vows to get to the bottom of the mystery.
All Dressed Up… | After the show’s best and most rocking opening theme song to date, young Billy and Tommy are preparing for Halloween with Pietro (Evan Peters), who is pretty much the same hyper knucklehead we saw in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) come down in their comic book accurate costumes and Vision tells them that he’s on neighborhood watch patrol for the night while Wanda and Pietro take the kids out on the town.
Outside in the SWORD camp, Director Hayward (Josh Stamberg) orders the team to escort Monica (Teyonah Parris), Jimmy (Randall Park) and Darcy (Kat Dennings) from the base after Monica lambasts his decision to try to fire a missile at Wanda. Monica and Jimmy manage to knock out the guards hauling them away and vow to find out Hayward’s plan.

…With Nowhere to Go | While Pietro uses his super speed to snag all the candy, Vision ventures out to the edge of town, having lied to Wanda about being on patrol. He sees a bunch of people frozen still the farther he gets out into town and finds Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) frozen in her car at the cusp of Westview. When Vision uses his phasing powers on her mind, she recognizes him as an Avenger, a term he doesn’t know, and tells him that he is dead. Vision reluctantly lets her drive back to the town and keeps going past the barrier of Wanda’s energy field.
How Did You Do It? | As their trick or treating continues, Tommy finds that he has inherited his uncle’s super speed and takes Billy for a spin. With a moment alone, Pietro confronts Wanda about having the town under control and seems to be okay with it all, but Wanda says she doesn’t know how she did it.
Outside, Darcy hacks into Hayward’s files and finds that when Monica went into Westview, the energy changed her DNA, which doesn’t seem to make a difference to Monica, who takes Jimmy to meet a contact of hers, while Darcy sends Hayward’s files to Jimmy.
Vision makes it to the border of the energy field and passes through, where Hayward and his men are waiting for him. The field begins to eat away at Vision, slowly destroying him, and Darcy tries to help him, but SWORD men handcuff her to the car.
Back in Westview, Billy somehow senses that Vision is dying, and when Pietro makes a joke about Vision dying twice, Wanda blasts him. Wanda freezes the entire town in place and uses her powers to expand the field to swallow up Vision and heal him to the way he was. Unfortunately, the field expands further, swallowing the SWORD camp, its personnel and Darcy before stopping.
