VH1’s Hit The Floor Begins Production on Season 3
VH1 begins production this week on the third season of its hit scripted series “Hit The Floor.” The hour-long drama series explores the exciting and scandalous world of professional basketball from the perspective of the Devil Girls dancers, and the Los Angeles Devils players, owners and coaches. The third season of “Hit the Floor” will premiere later this year.
Special guest stars this season on “Hit The Floor” will include Billy Baldwin playing Jackson Everett, a billionaire bachelor looking to cause trouble in Devils Arena, Lynn Whitfield returning as Jelena’s mother, Vanessa Howard, Andy Buckley (“Veep,” “The Office”) playing Adam Oberman, an ambitious league official, and Jonathan Bennett (“Mean Girls,” “Dancing With The Stars”) as Lucas, a sports agent who causes friction between Jude and Zero.
“Hit The Floor” pulled impressive ratings during the first two seasons, finishing as the #1 new scripted series of the summer on cable among Adults 18-49 in its debut season and ranking as the #1 ad-supported scripted drama series on cable among women 18-49 in its second season. Season 2 of “Hit the Floor” was also a magnet for fans on social platforms, consistently ranking amongst the Top 10 most social shows on TV Monday nights on Twitter.
Last season, the Devils won the Championship, but saw their owner Oscar Kinkade hauled off for the murder of a Devil Girl. But there’s another murderer still at large: Ahsha’s long-time boyfriend German, who was revealed in Season Two’s shocking finale to be Olivia Vincent’s killer. Unaware of her boyfriend’s deadly secret, Ahsha is reunited with him, but bad boy MVP Derek has vowed to get her back.
The Devils not only have a title, they have a new boss: Coach Pete’s ex-wife Lionel. And she’s going to make life hell for Pete and Sloane. But Sloane’s not going down without a fight. Meanwhile Jelena, the mastermind who put Lionel in Oscar’s chair, continues to pull the strings, all while tending to an injured Terrence, who gave everything to win the title.
“Hit the Floor,” was created by James LaRosa who also serves as Executive Producer. Bryan Johnson and The Film Syndicate are also executive producing. Susan Levison, Jill Holmes and Maggie Malina are Executive Producers for VH1.
