When we heard about Star Jones’ 2011 book Satan’s Sisters — A Novel of Fiction set behind the scenes of a long-running daytime television show, chronicling the fireworks that erupt daily between the five female co-hosts — being turned into a TV show called Daytime Divas (Jones says the title change was for marketing purposes), that definitely piqued our interest.

When the very impressive cast was announced, we were ecstatic! Then when VH1 released the first 8 minutes of the series premiere, we went crazy! Just from watching the first 8 minutes alone, we know for sure we’ll be glued to our televisions this summer to watch how all the juicy goodness goes down!
In the clip (which first appeared on TVLine), you’ll quickly be introduced to “The Lunch Hour,” the fictional daytime talk show within the show. And while it may look familiar, Executive Producer Star Jones swears, “This is not The View!”

“It’s not The View; it’s just fun,” Star said on her recent guest appearance on The View. “But it does have some elements of 25 years in daytime television; I think I’ve learned a few things over that time.”
