“Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” Exclusive: Melanie Scrofano & Tim Rozon Tease a Bold New Chapter

The wait is over, Earpers! Fans of Wynonna Earp are buzzing with excitement as Wynonna Earp: Vengeance prepares to bring the beloved characters back for a brand-new chapter. PopWire caught up with stars Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) and Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday) to dive into what fans can expect from the highly anticipated revival. From character evolution to the emotional stakes, this return promises to be an unforgettable ride.

Tim Rozon: “I feel very fortunate” | We couldn’t help but notice Tim Rozon’s “resurrection streak,” with SurrealEstate being canceled and then renewed, much like Wynonna Earp’s revival. When asked how it feels to see his shows make these big comebacks, Rozon humbly laughs.

“Yeah, I don’t know if I’d use the term ‘good luck charm,’ being as my series were canceled. But it’s one of those things where it never happens, so to have it happen twice, it’s just surreal,” Rozon shares. “I feel very fortunate. These are two of the best phone calls I’ve ever gotten, and I love getting to go back to those characters. It’s rare to lose something you love and then get it back.”

Both Wynonna Earp and SurrealEstate have found new life thanks to their devoted fan bases, and Rozon doesn’t take that for granted. “I don’t recommend losing something you love if you don’t have to, but if you do, it feels pretty amazing when you get it back.”

Melanie Scrofano: “Wynonna’s Motherhood Looks Different, But It’s No Less Powerful” | In Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, Wynonna continues to grapple with the emotional fallout of giving up her daughter, Alice, to protect her from the dangerous world of demons. While Wynonna made the heart-wrenching choice in Season 2, her journey as a mother is far from over, and Vengeance delves into how she navigates those complexities.

“[Series Creator Emily Andras] and I had some really interesting conversations about this, and we never got to an answer,” Scrofano explains. “Just talking about what would it mean for Wynonna to be a mom and is that necessarily what she wants in the traditional sense, and maybe that’s okay. That’s not how she’s built, but she does it in her own way.”

For Wynonna, motherhood doesn’t follow the conventional path, and that’s a reflection of who she is as a character. “I think Wynonna is not a conventional person. I think motherhood looks very different to her than it does to a lot of people. It doesn’t make her any less loving and it doesn’t make her any less devoted. She’s just not doing it in any way that society tends to expect to see it.”

Scrofano’s insight into Wynonna’s unique take on motherhood makes it clear that, while her approach might not be typical, her love and devotion are just as fierce as ever. Vengeance promises to explore this duality in a way that stays true to the heart of the character.

Tim Rozon on Doc and Wynonna’s Relationship: “It’s after happily ever after” | One of the biggest questions fans have is where Wynonna and Doc’s relationship stands in Vengeance. Rozon reveals that there’s a bit of a time jump since we last saw them, and the new storyline picks up three years after the original series ended.

“We left them at happily ever after, and now we get to see what happens after that,” Rozon says. “It’s like we saw them drive off on the Harley, and now we’re seeing them pushing it to the gas station because they’ve run out of gas.”

The new dynamic explores the reality of life beyond happy endings. “It’s super cool to see where they’re at now—there’s love, but there are new challenges, too. It’s not always easy after the fairy tale wraps up,” he adds.

Scrofano on the Tone of Vengeance: “It feels like classic Wynonna” | Despite the time gap, Scrofano assures fans that Wynonna Earp: Vengeance will feel just like the show they know and love. “Tonally, it feels like we picked up right where we left off. In fact, it feels a bit like going back to Season 1,” she shares.

While the show remains accessible to new viewers, longtime fans will appreciate the continuation of character development. “We haven’t sacrificed any of what the characters have learned along the way. The inside jokes and the depth of the relationships are still there. It’s a seamless blend of old and new.”

Tim Rozon on Doc’s New Journey: “He’s finally at peace” | For Doc Holliday, the journey of self-discovery is far from over. Rozon reveals that Doc’s motivations in Vengeance have shifted significantly since the original series. After years of seeking redemption, Doc is now looking for something simpler: peace.

“He’s done it all—he’s been the gunfighter, the vampire, the undead guy. Now, he just wants to be a father and a husband,” Rozon reflects. “I think it’s beautiful for someone to finally find peace, and that’s where Doc is at now. At the end of the day, that’s the only thing you can wish for anyone—peace.”

What Fans Can Expect | As Wynonna Earp: Vengeance gears up for its return, both Scrofano and Rozon are excited for fans to see what’s in store. From the emotional depth of Wynonna’s motherhood to Doc’s quest for peace, the stakes are higher than ever, and the action-packed, humor-filled charm of the original series remains intact.

“Old fans and new fans alike are in for a wild ride,” Scrofano promises. And with these two leading the charge once again, it’s sure to be an unforgettable return to the Wynonna Earp universe.

Wynonna Earp: Vengeance will stream exclusively on Tubi starting Friday, September 13, and it’s clear the Earpers are in for a treat as they dive back into Purgatory for one more showdown.
