Early Thursday morning (May 17th) the network has unveiled its fall schedule to advertisers complete with the new shows Arrow and Beauty and the Beast.
Nikita remains on Fridays but in a different time slot at 9|8c following America’s Next Top Model. Beauty and the Beast takes over The Secret Circle’s post-Vampire Diaries position at 9|8c on Thursdays. Lastly, the highly anticipated Arrow ends Wednesday nights at 9|8c following Supernatural.
Some have wondered if The Carrie Diaries and/or Beauty and the Beast would go through a name change — former because there’s already another show with almost a similar title, The Vampire Diaries, and the latter because ABC also had a pilot with the same name. The Carrie Diaries kept it’s title and the ABC pilot wasn’t picked up so all is good. The show that did get a name change was the Mamie Gummer starrer, First Cut, which has now been retitled to Emily Owens, M.D.
Saved for mid-season are the shows The Carrie Diaries, which will assume Gossip Girl’s spot in January, and Matt Davis’ Cult.
