Earlier this summer, it was revealed that in addition to Ricky Whittle, Lindsey Morgan had been upped to series regular on The CW’s sci-fi hit drama The 100. Morgan even appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con to talk about the new season! But does her new promotion mean that Raven is out of the woods?
It wasn’t that long ago when The Walking Dead‘s Sarah Wayne Callies herself showed up to Comic-Con like business as usual with a smile on her face, all the while keeping the huge secret that she had already filmed her big death scene in an episode that would air later that season.
So while we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Raven and are thrilled of Morgan’s promotion, we’re still a little wary that she might still be at death’s door.
OMFGTV had the opportunity to sit down with Morgan (while trying to remain professional and not fangirling out because we REALLY love this girl!) where she talked about the new season and surviving death.
“What happened to Raven — Murphy shooting her and the bullet in her spine — definitely plays a giant part in the second season premiere,” Morgan previews.
“Our show is willing to kill people, which I think is great,” she continues. “Even though I am a series regular, it’s like no one’s safe. None of the series regulars are safe, even Clarke’s not safe.”
Morgan also made a shocking reveal that we thought only applied to Jasper. “Last season, Raven was always supposed to die, always. The fact that I became a regular and everything, that was never supposed to happen in any whatsoever storyline. I lived in a hotel for six months [during the filming of the first season] just because I always thought I’d be going home. I was booked for so many episodes and that’s just what happens. That’s what also makes a great story too. You have those twists and turns and you have characters that you meet and lose. I would never take it personally [if Raven dies].”
And since Raven is alive (for now), she touched on the subject about a possible romance on the show. “I don’t know,” she says. “She hooks up a lot! Girl needs to chill! She needs to build some more bombs! Romance is kind of the last thing on everyone’s mind. The main focus is survival. If romance comes in to it whenever they have a five-minute break, then so be it. As far as I can tell, nothing on the horizon. And if there is something, I’d be shocked.”
As for Season 2 as a whole, Morgan says that it “evolves from Season 1. It goes to just so much more complexity as far as character dynamics and a lot of character work for everyone individually. You’re going to see a new side of everyone that you didn’t see in Season 1. That’s a really big revelation.”
The 100 Season 2 premieres Wednesday, October 22, at 9pm on The CW.
