The cast and creator of MTV’s highly addictive supernatural show Teen Wolf hit the San Diego Comic-Con once again to announce BIG news and also revealed some scoop for the rest of Season Four.
To kick things off, creator Jeff Davis announced that not only has MTV renewed the werewolf drama for a fifth cycle, but the network has ordered an expanded 20-episode season!

Davis also broke news that newcomer Dylan Sprayberry (Liam) will be returning to Season Five full time as a series regular. “It’s been awesome,” Sprayberry says of his time on the Teen Wolf set. “These guys are great; they’re like my brothers now. We’ve been working for half a year and it feels like we’ve been working together forever.”
Before Liam makes it to Season Five, however, he’s going to have to make it through Season Four, which Davis says will be more of a struggle for the new werewolf. “What he’s going to have to deal with in the future is he starts to learn if he’s okay being a werewolf. He’s not quite ready being a hero that Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) are.”
As for the addition of Shelley Hennig (Malia), Davis is pleased. “She has a very good sense of humor and really good comic timing. We’re happy to be able to write humor for her and Stiles.”

“I like that she brings honesty,” Hennig adds of her character. “She doesn’t have a filter which can be a little rude sometimes. That’s why she has Stiles to explain to everyone that she doesn’t mean any harm. It’s just all she knows and that’s one of my favorite parts about Malia.”
Shelley also spoke about the fan-favorite “unique” pairing between her character, Malia, and Stiles. “They’re unlike most relationships in high school I think.” Coming up for “Stalia,” Davis says there’s a rocky road ahead. “It’s going to get difficult for Malia and Stiles especially as a certain secret comes out.”
BEST BITES
• We’re going to learn a lot more about Lydia’s (Holland Roden) history and why she’s a banshee. Lydia will also struggle with her powers and how to master them in the next two episodes.
• A lot of characters’ arcs will come to a finish, and we’ll get to see the fruition of Peter Hale’s (Ian Bohen) plan and what he intends for Scott.
• Fan favorite Danny (Keahu Kahuanui) may have inexplicably vanished from Beacon Hills, but Davis promises that we “have not seen the last of Danny.”
• Though he kind of ships Stiles and Kate Argent (Jill Wagner), Davis reveals that there’s been a lot of talk in the writers room about a possible Stilinski (Linden Ashby) and Melissa (Melissa Ponzio) pairing. Make it happen, Jeff!
