Teen Wolf Recap: It’s Electric!

teen-wolf-315-galvanize-recap

William Barrow (Doug Jones), a high-profile serial killer, escapes during surgery from the hospital and with his new-found freedom runs rampant across Beacon Hills to terrorize once again. His specialty? Creating shrapnel bombs and killing students who have glowing eyes. Hmmm “glowing eyes”… Sound familiar?

He makes his way to Beacon Hills High and finds a good hiding spot in Coach Finstock’s (Orny Adams) office where he staples up his chest from his sugery — a surgery were loads of flies flew out of a giant tumor (GROSS!). Lydia and her Banshee powers beings to hear the buzzing of the flies and is convinced that the killer is in the building and could strike at any second.

The school goes on lockdown, but when Scott (Tyler Posey) and his friends realize that the murderer’s plan is to blow up the entire school, Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) pulls the fire alarm evacuating most of the entire lot, save for Scott and Co.

Lydia’s (Holland Roden) brilliance leads her to the discovery that Barrow, a former electrical engineer, is after Scott’s new friend Kira (Arden Cho) via atomic numbers written on a chalk board. Kira, who’s chillin’ in the school library and can’t hear the fire alarm because she has her music on blast, is saved by the coach who finds her nose deep into a book. Luckily for her, he had perfect timing because Barrow was just a few feet away!

After an innocent dinner date with Kira’s family that involved chop sticks and sushi, Barrow closes in on his target — first by knocking Scott unconscious then kidnapping Kira. Lydia uses her Banshee powers once again and realizes that the buzz she was hearing was not of flies, but rather electricity. Stiles puts the puzzle pieces together with the information that Barrow used to be an electrical engineer at a power substation, and sure enough, that’s where they find Kira.

At the substation, Barrow has Kira tied up and teases and threatens her with an exposed electrical wire that sparks like crazy. When he finally goes in for the kill and meets the electrical wire with Kira, it is he who gets the shock and shoots up a few feet away. Giant sparks of electricity fly in every direction, putting on quite a display of a light show. Barrow is fried toast, but what happened to Kira? As if by magic, all the remaining sparks fly towards her and collectively gather and are absorbed into her hands and cause a blackout in Beacon Hills. Looks like Scott has a new friend who also has supernatural abilities!

BEST BITES

 • How hilarious was it when Stiles started to do a little dance while he pushed the fire alarm down and how his face went from joy to fear as he realized coach was right behind him?

&bull’ It was really fun to see Scott eating sushi and using chop sticks for the first time. Absolutely loved the chemistry between Scott and Kira in this scene.

 • Was anyone else bummed that Mr. Argent (JR Bourne) interrupted what could have been Allison and Isaac’s first time? It was hilarious when he asked to speak with her in his office “where I keep my guns.” It was also very funny when he shouted that she was getting involved with “ANOTHER WEREWOLF?!” But seriously, hasn’t he heard of knocking?
