Teen Wolf Recap: Taken

teen-wolf-307-currents-recap

On the latest episode of Teen Wolf titled “Currents,” an ER doctor is murdered as another doctor gets held up (pun intended); Team Derek’s plans get foiled; and a major death takes place. Let’s recount some of the events that transpired in last night’s episode.

The deaths in Beacon Hills continue to increase as the human sacrifices show no sign of dwindling. An ER doctor, who makes her way to the hospital is swarmed by moths in her car and vanishes and is later found dead resulting from asphyxiation. Her car is later seen rolling onto the ER parking lot as if by magic with no driver in tow.

Dr. Deaton (Seth Gilliam) comes in contact with moth in his practice and already knows what’s going to happen to him next. As more moths continue to infest his building, he calls Scott (Tyler Posey) and tells him that he’s about to be taken and instructs the young werewolf that it is up to him to locate where he will be. Unfortunately, Scott doesn’t have Liam Neeson on speed dial.

Ms. Morell (Bianca Lawson) shows up at Deaton’s place of business and pleads with the cops to find him. We also finally learn the relationship between the two: they’re siblings. We always know there was some kind of familial relationship between the two of them, but it’s great to know at last the specifics, which also come to a shock for Scott and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien).

Ms. Morell tells Scott and Stiles that the only way they can help find Deaton is to find someone who has connections with the supernatural: Lydia (Holland Roden). Stiles and Cora (Adelaide Kane) meet up with Lydia and try to get her to envision where Deaton is with her powers. She is presented with an Ouija Board to help speak with spirits, Deaton’s keys to get any psychic energies, as well as a pencil and a notebook to see if automatic writing will help locate the missing doc. “I’m not a psychic,” she tells Stiles. “You’re something, okay?!” he shouts at her with frustration. We don’t blame him. We don’t know what the hell she is either! They eventually figure out that Dr. Deaton is at the Beacon Hills First National Bank and Scott goes to save him.

Meanwhile, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) plans to kill Deucalion’s (Gideon Emery) followers once and for all and submerges his lair with water and an electric current with hopes that Kali (Felisha Terrell) and the others will step it and die of electricution. His plans are ruined, however, when Kali cuts the power out before heading up for the brawl. Derek is no match for them and he is unwillingly forced to kill one of his own: Boyd (Sinqua Walls)!

BEST BITES
 • We loved the scene where Lydia is tested on her “powers” to help locate Dr. Deaton. Everything is thrown at her with no results. Hopefully we’ll find out what Lydia is soon!

 • Stiles goes to the hospital to find out what Danny (Keahu Kahuanui) knows about Deaton’s whereabouts. Danny is half asleep when he notices Stiles going through his backpack. It’s a funny scene as Stiles continues to reassure Danny that he is just dreaming. “Why would I dream about you going through my stuff?” Danny asks him. “It’s your dream,” Stiles replies. “Take responsibility for it. Just shut up and go back to sleep.”
