The last installment of Syfy’s Van Helsing left viewers with the knowledge of how Doc (Rukiya Bernard) turned, and the emotional toll it took on Axel (Jonathan Scarfe).
We hope to see more of that storyline play out in episode 3, maybe see how Axel handled his emotions those first few days following her turning. We also want to see more of how the vampire hierarchy works. Is Dmitri the leader, or does he report to someone?
We’re also bloodthirsty to find out more about Vanessa (Kelly Overton) in the episode. Why is she immune to bites from vampires? How is she able to turn them human? Will we learn more about her relationship with her daughter, and if her daughter is still alive?
Hopefully tonight’s episode, “Stay Inside,” will answer some of these questions, and more!
While speaking with OMFGTV, Kelly Overton previews the episode and gives us a few teasers.

“The vampires are pretty angry that things didn’t go the way they planned for it to go in the attack,” she tells us.
In addition to the fangry vamps, Overton warns, “there’s some danger” with the group.
“Axel is forced to leave the hospital in order to solve the problem and Vanessa convinces him that she should go with him. She’s been trying to get out of there since we met her. She raises some good points about why she should go because it’s a pretty hostile environment for her.”
“They actually leave the hospital in episode 3 and it’s our first look at the outside world,” she continues. “We get to kind of see the dynamic between her and Axel in a new way– having them isolated and on their own. Vanessa starts pressing and asking a lot of questions.”
