Viewers of Syfy’s new thriller Van Helsing know Axel (Jonathan Scarfe) to be the strong and quiet marine type, who just happens to have a soft spot for his friend-turned-vampire prisoner, Doc (Rukiya Bernard).
OMFGTV recently spoke with Scarfe about the relationship between Axel and Doc, and why saving Doc is so essential.
“Doc is so important, because without Doc he’s got nothing,” Scarfe tells us.
Axel has the cure, but according to Scarfe he doesn’t know how to administer it to others. “He knows he’s got the most important thing in Vanessa, but he’s useless without Doc.”
Scarfe continues on to say Axel needs Doc to take Vanessa’s (Kelly Overton) blood and turn it into something humanity can use, which is something he is unable to do on his own.
Jonathan describes Axel as the type of man who needs to be assigned a mission, which is the role he needs Doc to play for him.
“That’s what he’s counting on Doc for– so they can go back and figure out how to make Vanessa’s blood viable for the idea of trying to turn the tide.”
Make sure to catch Van Helsing Friday’s at 10 pm on Syfy to find out if Doc and Axel are able to find a way to administer the cure!
