“He’s definitely a momma’s boy!”
Sci-Fi fans are no stranger to seeing Aleks Paunovic’s face on their screens, so it was no surprise that he would be playing Julius in Syfy’s new hit series, Van Helsing.
OMFGTV was lucky enough to speak with Aleks about his role as Julius and where he would like to see his character headed in the vampire thriller’s future.
Paunovic describes Julius as a mysterious character, one who lusts for power. “Right away people can see how ferocious and vicious he is, and just his thirst for blood and power.” But don’t let his tough exterior fool you, Paunovic confirms “He’s definitely a momma’s boy!”

Julius often exercises his power by having his cronies do his dirty work for him. When asked if this was a sign of power or a sign of cowardice, Aleks laughed and admitted he had never thought of Julius as a coward before.
Julius, according to Paunovic, just doesn’t like to do work if he doesn’t have to. “He wants to see what the deal is, he doesn’t have to do the dirty work.”
Syfy has already announced the renewal of Van Helsing for a second season, and Aleks already has an idea of what he would like to see for Julius.
“I would love to see where he came from more than where he goes. Everyone starts somewhere.” Will we see Julius before he was turned? Paunovic hopes so! “I kinda hope you get to see the humanity and when he was human.”
