“Revival” Episode ‘Run Along Little Lamb’ Recap: Truth Hurts, and Someone’s Making Sure It Stays Buried

Mathieu Savidant/Lavivier Productions/SYFY

This week’s Revival episode, “Run Along Little Lamb,” written by Ashley Park and directed once again by Amanda Row, dives headfirst into long-buried secrets, cult-like conspiracy energy, and one killer ending. Em is ready to start digging into her memories, the truth behind her death, and the growing darkness surrounding Blaine’s message. Grab a flashlight… and maybe some anger management worksheets.

We open on a break-in at Em’s former professor, Aaron’s, house. His wife is asleep on the couch while a mysterious man, his face badly burned, rifles through papers and flash drives. It’s likely the same scarred figure seen in the incinerator during the premiere’s opening scene. Whatever he’s after, it’s clearly worth the risk. Later, one of the flash drives ends up with a reporter, though its contents remain a mystery… for now.

Meanwhile, Nella finds Em’s missing flip phone, setting off a new wave of questions. Em and Rhodey head straight to Dana, who’s already deep into detective mode. Em fills her sister in on what little she remembers from the night she died, and Dana, never one to sit still, goes to confront Blaine. Em and Rhodey follow her to a local auto yard where Blaine is holding court like some apocalyptic prophet. He tells Dana that Em was high the night of December 18—Revival night—and claims there was a strange flash of light in the woods. Em might’ve seen it too, but she doesn’t remember. Blaine’s cryptic warning? “The end of days are near.”

Dana doesn’t buy into Blaine’s messiah routine, but the tension in town is undeniably escalating. Signs are popping up around Wausau, some marking buildings where Revivers live, others warning them to stay away. It’s clear the divide between the living and the revived is getting uglier. Meanwhile, Wayne is stamping Rhodey’s ID when he realizes Rhodey is dating Em. He doesn’t realize his own daughter should be getting her ID stamped as well under the new mandate.

That night, Cooper and Jordan are hanging out in a tent, talking and relaxing, when things take an eerie turn. Strange sounds surround them, and something brushes against the outside of the tent. Jordan seems oddly drawn to it, pausing like she senses something just beyond the fabric. Later, before bed, Dana gently reassures Jordan after she admits to making her parents uncomfortable by no longer needing sleep. Dana tells her softly: “I’m sorry if anyone ever made you feel like you couldn’t be yourself.” Ibrahim seems even more attracted to Dana after hearing what she says to Jordan and asks her out to dinner the next night.

Meanwhile, the pressure on Revivers continues to mount. Diane, the mayor’s wife and secretly one of the revived, visits Wayne at his office and pleads with him to keep her off the registry. But Wayne refuses; rules are rules. At anger management, Em is surprised to learn that her court-assigned therapist is Aaron’s wife, and that Aaron had already told her Em is a Reviver. During their session, she gently gets Em to open up about her mother’s death and the possibility that someone caused her own. Em isn’t just suspicious anymore; she’s starting to believe someone wanted her dead.

Dana continues to follow her instincts and the evidence. She checks out the rental car Blaine claimed to be using the night of the revival and finds a hospital parking pass inside, casting serious doubt on his alibi. Meanwhile, Em and Rhodey’s bond deepens. They share a quiet moment before Em is hit with another flashback, this one more intense. Bits and pieces from the night she died are starting to come into focus, and it’s clear: her memory is coming back, whether she’s ready or not.

Tensions in Wausau are rising fast. At a local exercise class, a group of Blaine’s cronies harass an older Revived woman, intimidating her in front of everyone. It’s a small but telling moment. Blaine’s influence is spreading, and his followers are getting bolder by the day. Meanwhile, Em and Rhodey visit a pawn shop looking for answers about the mysterious ring Em threw up after reviving. While there, they uncover the name James Anderson, Aaron’s former teaching assistant, who now seems to be tied to more than just class rosters. Every new clue pulls Em further into the truth about what happened to her.

Back at home, Aaron is starting to come apart. His wife can sense that something is wrong. After she questions him, Aaron panics and begins burning documents, trying to erase whatever he’s involved in. Meanwhile, Dana discovers that Aaron had been using his wife’s chemotherapy appointments as an alibi, leaving during them to go elsewhere on the night Em died. He wasn’t where he claimed to be, and the truth is starting to close in fast.

Em is done waiting. After everything she’s learned, she decides to take control. She cuts her hair short, a clear signal that something inside her has shifted. She’s not just asking questions anymore; she’s ready to confront the truth head-on. Meanwhile, Tony Check reaches out to his brothers, asking them to sneak him back into Wausau. Around the same time, Dana, who is on a date with Ibrahim, receives a text from Aaron saying he’s finally ready to talk.

In the woods, Em confronts Aaron and demands the truth. As he finally begins to confess, admitting he was with her the night she died and that he took her, Em snaps. Overwhelmed with rage and betrayal, she strangles him in the heat of the moment, but pulls back before knocking him unconscious. Aaron, rattled but still alive, starts to say more… but before he can finish, a hidden shooter opens fire, killing him instantly. Dana and Ibrahim arrive moments later, but Ibrahim stays in the car while Dana rushes toward the scene, only to be shot. Em, horrified, grabs the fallen weapon and fires back, screaming for help as everything collapses around her.
