“Astrid & Lilly Save the World” Season 2 Idea: Brutus Makes a Deal With the Devil

CHRISTINEOh, those two… You should’ve just said so. Well, [looks at wall clock] it’s 1:30pm so they should both be in class right now. Unless they’re hanging out in the bathroom again. You know, those girls are so odd.

Christine calms down and places the phone receiver back on the base. As she does so, Brutus notices the Guardian symbol on her wrist and suddenly shows interest in her. Christine notices that he saw her wrist and she pulls on her sleeve quickly to cover it.

An announcement is made on the PA system. It’s Michelle. Brutus and Christine look up at the speaker in the library as Michelle makes her announcement.

INT. PRINCIPAL VARSHIDI’S OFFICE
Michelle is holding the PA mic making the announcement while posing at the same time as Varshidi is taking photos of her with her cell phone.

MICHELLE
(into PA mic)Good afternoon, Pine Academy Students! Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for “Romeo & Juliet *Down Unda*,” [says “Down Unda” in a terrible Australian accent] directed by yours truly. Also, tickets for prom go on sale this Friday! And no, if you buy tickets to both the play and the prom, you don’t get a discount. Oh! I’m also looking for my pink glitter phone case. If anyone sees it, please return it to Principal Varshidi’s office. I know you took it, Chanel! I’ve seen you eyeing it in detention. Anyway, toodles!

This announcement establishes that this whole opening scene takes place in a flashback — before the play and prom happened.

INT. LIBRARY

BRUTUSYou work for the Guardian, don’t you?

CHRISTINEI have no idea what you’re talking about.

BRUTUSThat symbol on your wrist. I know what it means. You work for the Guardian.

CHRISTINENow you have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re severely mistaken. I don’t work for the Guardian. I work *with* the Guardian.

BRUTUSThat’s what I said.

CHRISTINENo, you didn’t.

BRUTUSYeah, I did.

CHRISTINEDid not.

BRUTUSDid too.

CHRISTINEAnyway! What about it?
