“Astrid & Lilly Save the World” Season 2 Idea: Brutus Makes a Deal With the Devil
I must admit that I’ve never written any kind of scene in my life. So if this whole thing is a disaster, I apologize in advance. What I present to you below is just one of my ideas for, what I think, is a pretty cool twist that’ll take place in the first three episodes of a potential season 2. If you enjoy this read — and please make sure to read the whole thing (6 pages) — please let me know in the comments below or on social media. And also, please share this post on social!
Episode #201
Throughout the episode, the girls feel uneasy because they feel like they’re being watched. At the end of the episode (cliffhanger), we see a hooded figure watching Lilly from outside her bedroom window.
Episode #202
Throughout the episode (maybe twice), Candace notices the hooded figure has been following her and is terrified. She goes to Astrid & Lilly to talk about it as she is 100% positive that a new monster has been stalking her.
At the end of the episode (cliffhanger), Candace finally confronts the hooded figure. Candace tells the figure to “Show yourself!” The figure drops the hood and it is revealed that it is her mother Christine.
*Important*
For this twist to work, it is vital that in #201 it is either shown or mentioned that Candace attended her mom’s funeral.
The following scene opens episode #203
It is in the middle of the school day. Several shots within the library show students studying and talking quietly amongst themselves. Cut to Brutus in one of the aisles deeply invested in the book he’s reading. He whispers inaudibly showing that he’s trying to retain what he’s reading. Camera pulls back to show the title of the book: “Humans for Dummies.” In the background, Christine is seen behind the library check-out counter.
LIBRARY CHECK-OUT COUNTER
Christine is behind the counter setting up flyers for the youth group. Candace walks past until Christine stops her.
Candace ignores her.
Candace stops, heads to the counter, and looks at her mother with an annoyed look on her face.
Christine hands her a few flyers from her stack.
Candace takes the flyers and stuffs them into her backpack.
(as Candace starts to walk away)
Moments later, Brutus paces throughout the library as if he’s trying to find something. The book is still in his hands. Christine notices the stranger and her eyes show that she starts to get suspicious of him.
