Memory Magic | J’onn asks Nia to use her dreaming powers to go into J’onn’s memories of his brother, Malefic. They see Malefic using his Martian powers to control the actions of the children, forcing M’rynn to lock him away, where he sympathized with the White Martians. They also discover that J’onn was the one who wiped all memories of Malefic from not only his own mind, but his father’s as well. J’onn is horrified that he committed the greatest Martian sin, but orders Nia not to tell anyone about this.
Elsewhere, Malefic sneaks into Kelly’s place and finds photos of her with an army friend Pete, played by Sean Astin of all people, and shape shifts into Pete to talk to Kelly about using the Obsidian tech on his mind. Via this, Malefic regains his powers to control minds and nearly gets Kelly to kill herself before J’onn arrives and chases him off.
The Terrible Truth | Alex tracks down the woman who killed Jarrod, who turns out to be an alien parasite inside Caroline O’Connor. Supergirl finds a flash drive at her apartment that details another target, where Supergirl and Alex stop O’Connor, but she is killed by a black blur before she can talk. After finding out about Malefic’s attack on Kelly, Alex sends Kelly into witness protection and James goes with her to keep her safe. Nia returns home to Brainy and finally snaps at his smothering her with food and poems, prompting him to get upset and walk out. After receiving Lex’s journals from Supergirl, Lena deciphers a code that reveals Lex’s mind control schematics. And to add to bad news, William receives money from a mystery man, potentially regarding Jarrod’s murder.
