One of the best parts of “Supergirl’s” fourth season, Nicole Maines’ Nia Nal, gets her chance to shine in the Kevin Smith directed “Bunker Hill.” Manchester goes after Ben Lockwood, while Nia’s secret catches up with her. Supergirl faces an impossible decision.
The Butterfly Effect | This week’s excellent episode opens with Nia dreaming of Agent Liberty holding a gun and shooting at mysterious woman. Nia freaks out at CatCo after seeing Liberty’s face on TV, prompting Brainy to suggest that Nia may be the key to finding Liberty when Kara relays the freakout to him.
[adinserter block=”1″]Into Another Nightmare | Kara and Brainy go to Nia’s apartment, where she reveals that she’s an alien from a planet where certain generations of women can dream futures whenever they fall asleep. With Brainy’s help, Nia remembers details of her dream, notably a construction hook and the woman wearing a sweatshirt with a town race printed on it. After going to the town, Kara, Nia and Brainy are promptly taken by Agents of Liberty to a steel mill.
Meanwhile, Manchester tracks down Lockwood and outright invades his home and confronts his wife, Lydia, about his life as Agent Liberty, which she is horrified by. Manchester chases Ben to the same mill, while Kara spots the Lockwood name on the mill’s floor after they break free from their restraints. A quick call to Alex and her sweating out an Agent confirms that Ben is Agent Liberty.
Problematic | Kara darts away to become Supergirl and tries to stop Manchester from killing Ben and Lydia, but he traps her in a vat of alien steel. Fortunately, Nia manages to find the hook from her dream and use it to knock out Manchester before he can kill anyone. After breaking free, Supergirl calls the cops and Lockwood is arrested along with Manchester, but public opinion is still on Lockwood’s side. When Supergirl returns to the DEO, President Baker orders her to reveal her secret identity in an effort for the government to be more transparent. When Supergirl refuses, Baker outright removes her from DEO duty. Though Alex says she can try to turn the tide in her favor, Supergirl flies away without a fight.
