“Supergirl” Recap: When We Bury Things

In “Supergirl’s” latest, “Shelter From the Storm,” Alex moves to protect Ruby after Reign sets out to eliminate her, while Mon-El faces a difficult decision. Lena’s trust in Supergirl is eroded and M’yrnn’s disability proves to be an asset.

Facing the Music | Supergirl and J’onn go to Samantha’s mother’s house to protect her from an incoming Reign, which goes terribly to say the least. To say the most, Patricia gets killed for trying to stand up to Reign and honestly, I feel like Supergirl could’ve done more to stop it.

While Alex heads to Luthor Manor- which also turns invisible, so that’s cool- to keep an eye on Ruby, Mon-El and the Legion are preparing to head back to the future, but Brainiac realizes that with even one member of the Legion helping Supergirl, her chances of success against Reign skyrocket. Imra convinces Mon-El to return to Earth and help her out and tells him that she won’t blame him if he decides to stay with her.

Our Last Hope | Supergirl visits M’yrnn to get advice from him about how to reason with Reign, seeing as he reasoned with the White Martians. M’yrnn recalls playing by the White Martian’s rules, which galvanizes Supergirl. But her bubble gets quickly burst when Lena turns over her Kryptonite supply to help stop Reign. The whole “Can Supergirl trust Lena” drama from last week just picks up where it left off. Who cares if they’ve done this exact storyline one episode ago?!!?

Live By the Code | Reign finds out where Ruby is when Ruby borrows Alex’s phone to call her mom. Reign storms Lex’s mansion and Supergirl and Mon-El arrive for a fight, during which Reign’s mask gets knocked off and Ruby sees that it’s her mother. Mon-El uses Lena’s Kryptonite to neutralize Reign, but Ruby is traumatized for life and Alex takes her in. When Kara and Lena head into the elevator to meet them, Lena confesses to Kara that her trust with Supergirl is null and void after finding out that she made James break into her vault. Well, there goes that fan theory I mentioned last week! Way to reset a major character relationship!

“Supergirl” airs Mondays at 8pm on The CW.
