In 2007, horror filmmaker Eli Roth created a fake trailer for a holiday slasher flick called Thanksgiving for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s double feature, Grindhouse. It only took 16 years, but Roth has finally cooked up a full length version of his slasher set to hit theaters on November 17.
Thanksgiving has unleashed its brief teaser trailer, which can be seen below, and it looks to offer up holiday horror with gruesome kills and homages to the fan favorite trailer from 2007.
The film’s synopsis reads, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts- the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”
Directed by Eli Roth and written by Roth and Jeff Rendell, the film stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon.
