SNL SPRINGS INTO APRIL WITH TWO NEW SHOWS
NBC on Thursday announced hosts and musical guests for two of its brand new Saturday Night Live installments slated to air in April.
Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton (“Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)”) will return to the SNL stage for the third time on April 4 with Carly Rae Jepsen, the multi-platinum, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, who will be making her musical guest debut.
Also making her SNL debut is Taraji P. Henson, the Academy Award nominated actress who currently stars as the fan-favorite “Cookie” on FOX’s record-breaking television series, Empire.
Henson hosts the April 11 outing with musical guest Mumford & Sons, whose appearance will mark their second.
SNL recently spoofed Empire (video below) with guest host Chris Hemsworth as the only white employee at the company. Hopefully, during Henson’s hosting gig, there will be an opportunity for them to do another Empire skit, or any other reason to bring Cookie to life on the sketch comedy show.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30pm on NBC.
