In She Hulk: Attorney At Law‘s second episode, Jen’s hulk out in the courtroom comes back to haunt her, leading to a major career change and a chance meeting with an old Marvel villain. Turns out being a superhero isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Let’s dive in!
She Hulk Unleashed | A newscast reveals that the woman from the courtroom was called Titania (Jameela Jamil) who was fleeing traffic court due to “Low blood sugar.” And after Jennifer (Tatiana Maslany) revealed herself as a Hulk, everyone is calling her a, you guessed it, She Hulk. Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) tries to use the situation to Jen’s advantage by trotting her out at a bar, but Jen is still refusing to be called a superhero. Jen’s boss then decides that this is the perfect time to fire her, since her hulking out and saving the jury caused a mistrial. To add to Jen’s woes, not only does she not get hired due to this, but her family uses this to humiliate her during their dinner.
GLK&H | While drowning her sorrows at a bar, Jen gets approached by the lawyer for the opposing team of her last case, Mr. Holloway (Steve Coulter), who offers her a job at his firm, GLK&H, which she immediately accepts. On her first day, however, Jen is informed by Holloway that she is the public face of their superhuman law division- and she is required to be in She Hulk form while on the job at all times. Obviously, Jen is NOT happy about this, even though Nikki, who transferred at Jen’s request, is ecstatic that they get a fancy office complete with mini fridge, and she gets even less happy when Holloway insists that her first client will be Emil Blonsky’s (Tim Roth) parole hearing. Jen points out that she has an obvious conflict of interest, since Blonsky did, you know, try to murder her cousin, but Blonsky has waived that. Oh, and Holloway tells her that if she refuses the case, her job offer is null and void.
A New Man? | Jen visits Blonsky’s prison cell and he appeals to reason, saying that he’s a changed man and wants to move on with his life, since the oddly specific number of seven women want to pay for him to start a new life with them. He also adds that his rampage in Harlem was a result of the super serum the government gave him driving him mad, which interests Jen. Jen calls Bruce (Mark Ruffalo) to inform him of the case and Bruce gives Jen his permission to represent Blonsky, since he sent Bruce a letter burying the hatchet. Bruce is also on the spaceship that nearly ran them over in episode one heading off to outer space, FYI. Jen calls Holloway to accept the case and he tells her to turn on the news- showing Blonsky as the Abomination in the underground fight club from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Yep, Jen’s royally screwed.
