“Sense8” Episode Review: Strength in Numbers

The “Sense8” plot train goes on full steam ahead in “WWN Double-D?” Nomi and Amanita vow to find out who wanted to have Nomi lobotomized, while Daniela’s possessive ex-boyfriend Joaquin tries to win her back. Capheus finds out that Silas may not be as good as he appears.

After a relatively mellow episode preceded it, this episode piles on the stakes as Nomi and Amanita go full on “Charlie’s Angels” to find out Dr. Metzker’s secrets, with the help of Nomi’s hacker past and her super inappropriate friend. This culminated in an intense showdown that ended with Metzker getting killed by a patient he lobotomized, who may or may not be a Sensate himself…

Lito also ran into trouble when Joaquin stole Daniela’s phone and threatened to release photos of him and Hernando that Daniela took. Daniela promises to “Fix it,” but that could mean going back to Joaquin. Moral dilemma, anyone?

And of course, Silas turns out to be a hand-chopping psychopath. While this was obviously coming, it was no less shocking to see Silas playing with his daughter and then dismember a man a few minutes later.

“WWN Double-D?” was one of “Sense8’s” strongest episodes to date, finally setting in motion the gears of the season. The show’s six episodes of buildup paid off big time here.
