“Sense8” Episode Review: Follow the Money
“Sense8’s” uniquely titled third episode, “Smart Money’s on the Skinny Bitch,” focused on Sun’s after hours activities, which come in handy when Capheus is robbed. Lito meets Daniela’s possessive ex-boyfriend, Joaquin.

Much like “I Am Also A We,” episode three trims down the large cast to a few focus points, notably Capheus and Sun, whose seemingly disparate stories intersected in a cool way as Sun’s underground fighting transferred to Capheus as he was being beaten by robbers. This the first time we’ve seen the Sensates essentially use each other’s bodies like puppets and the cross cutting was done well. Also, think of the amount of work it must have taken to get the two actors in the same locations and cut the two places together so that it made sense.
Lito met Joaquin, who was in no way extremely suspicious- that is to say holding a knife to Lito’s throat was one hell of an introduction and established that Lito’s just-for-show relationship with Daniela may catch up with him.
There was minor stuff too, like Riley giving away the drug money to a street musician and Nomi’s surgery being interrupted at exactly the right time by her girlfriend causing a fire. Seriously, that was the most down to the wire timing ever!
“Smart Money’s on the Skinny Bitch” further explored a few characters and made the connections between them exciting. It also put them in even more danger, which should pay off down the line.
Season 2 of Sense8 premieres May 5 on Netflix.
