At San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the cast and creative team behind the hit CW series Supergirl stopped by to preview the upcoming third season of the superhero series. OMFGTV sat down with the cast to talk their characters’ journey for the next season.
Melissa Benoist kicked things off discussing the balance, or lack thereof, between Kara Danvers and Supergirl. “When we pick up in season 3, Kara has very much dedicated herself to Supergirl and I don’t think she wants to address what happened with Kara Danvers. The balance is a little off. I wish she could’ve had that perfect formula that she felt like she had with her love and her career and being a superhero and juggling all of that.”

“Kara’s always been interesting to me in that her life has always been a tragedy,” Benoist said. “When you lose your entire world and your whole family, now as an adult, it’s interesting to see how she handed it as a kid versus how she handles it as an adult.”
Benoist also went into the friendship between Kara and Lena Luthor: “With Lena and Kara, how close they are, how they relate to each other as women, what they’ve been through with their families, what they lost, is a really strong foundation for their friendship.”
McGrath also added: “Don’t you kind of want her not to find out the truth? Part of the magic of the show is that there’s at least one person who believes that there are two different people even though they’re exactly the same. Because everybody else knows, isn’t it nice to have one person who’s the complete fool?”
