SYFY’s latest original series, Revival, has made a strong impression since its debut just weeks ago. Adapted for television by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, the show is based on the acclaimed comic book series by writer Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash) and artist Mike Norton (Battlepug). The adaptation has been met with positive reception, currently holding a 93% rating on RottenTomatoes.
Co-Creators Koontz and Boyce took to social media Wednesday evening to make the official announcement. “REVIVAL is headed to San Diego Comic-Con!” they posted.
According to the graphic the two posted on IG, the SYFY series will have their presentation, “Revival: From Comics to TV Panel & Q&A,” on Friday, July 25 at 10:30am in Room 6A. The scheduled panelists include stars Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, Andy McQueen, along with Showrunners Koontz and Boyce, and the creators of the comics Tim Seeley and Mike Norton.
Along with a discussion about the comics and the adapted for television live-action series, attendees will be treated with an exclusive sneak peek from an upcoming episode of Revival.
Shortly after the Panel & Q&A, the cast and creators will hold an autograph signing from 12-1pm at the Image Comics booth #1915. They will be signing an exclusive free SDCC Revival show print by Mike Norton.

Throughout the convention, we envision a dynamic group of performers roaming the convention center in flash mob-style, each dressed as Em in her signature hoodie. The backs of the hoodies could feature a prominent QR code directing attendees to the official Revival website. When attendees approach any of the Em lookalikes for a photo, they would receive a postcard-sized handout featuring the show’s key art, tune-in details, and potentially a Peacock promo code for a one-week free trial to watch the series, or a link to a special page on the SYFY site created specifically for Comic-Con that will allow anyone with that link to watch the first few episodes for free for a limited time.
On Thursday, June 26, Koontz posted to social media, stating: “Every view counts & they are watching week to week right now very closely.” The “they” in question is likely SYFY, suggesting that the network is closely monitoring both Live+7 Nielsen ratings and streaming performance on Peacock.

With that in mind, we anticipate that a renewal announcement could coincide with the potential SDCC panel. Such an announcement might be released via press release a few days prior or, in a more dramatic fashion, made live during the event itself.
PopWire will be on site at SDCC to bring you the scoop.
Revival airs Thursdays at 10/9c on SYFY and episodes are available to stream a week after air on Peacock.
