Prime Video’s “Paper Girls” Travels to San Diego Comic-Con with Panel, Screenings and Signings

With the first San Diego Comic-Con event in two years right around the corner, it seems that Prime Video is going big for their latest series at the annual event.

Paper Girls, based on the Eisner Award winning comic book series from Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, is heading to SDCC 2022, with a Ballroom 20 panel set for Friday, an advance screening of the show’s pilot episode, and signings for the comic’s creators.

First up, on Friday, July 22, Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Convention Center will host a panel for the series at 1:30 PM PDT. While the exact panelists have yet to be announced, the description on the Comic-Con website promises, “Cast, creators and executive producers” in attendance.

Later that night, Prime Video will give fans an advance screening of the Paper Girls pilot at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel at 7:00 PM PDT. According to Prime Video, “The rooftop event will include special 80s themed food and beverages, exclusive poster giveaways and special photo moments.”

Last but not least, for fans of the Paper Girls comics, the Image Comics booth- Booth #1915 on the exhibit hall floor- will host not one, but two autograph signings for the creative team behind the comics, including Vaughan, Chiang, colorist Matt Wilson and letterer Jared Fletcher. To attend, fans must get a ticket for each signing at the Image booth as soon as the doors open at 9:30 AM PDT. Tickets will be served on a first come first serve basis and the signings will take place on Thursday, July 21 and Saturday, July 23 at the Image booth at 4:00 PM PDT.

Paper Girls is produced by Plan B and Legendary Entertainment and stars Riley Lai Nelet, Camryn Jones, Sofia Rosinsky and Fina Strazza. The first season drops on Prime Video on July 29.
