Secrets are revealed and alliances shift after “Runaways'” newest episode, “Rock Bottom.” Karolina discovers more about her family history, while Topher reveals his past to the group. Gert’s anxiety reaches a boiling point and Robert takes a stand against Jonah.
This Is Your Life, Karolina Dean | Picking up from last episode, Jonah takes Karolina down to the bottom of the big site, where he shows her a submerged spaceship that Jonah is trying to dig up. He tells Karolina that she is part of an alien dynasty and that her family, including her brother, is onboard the ship that he’s trying to free, leaving Karolina in a very precarious position: Does she save her biological family, or help her best friends destroy them?
Gotta Have More | Back at the Hostel, Topher tells the group that he worked at the lab with Molly’s parents and the explosion that killed them and gave Molly her powers also gave him powers. However, after Topher discovers that the dig site may have more of the alien rocks from the lab, he splits and tries to steal more rocks from the site as the gang chase after him.

Oh, and remember last episode where Eiffel asked Chase for a “favor?” Turns out she just took a selfie with him in the bathroom. Anti climax, much? Pride interrogates Eiffel, who of course, reveals nothing, but Janet reveals to the group that if Jonah’s ship takes off, it could create an earthquake that could wipe out California.
It’s Stuff Like This That Gives Me Trust Issues | The Runaways corner Topher at a nurse’s house, that turns out to be his family’s. Molly discovers that Topher’s entire backstory was a lie and that Topher was just a garbage man who found the alien rocks in a dumpster. Topher lashes out at Molly and the group and throws a dumpster at them, but Nico deflects it and it nearly hits Gert, before Topher takes the impact, which kills him. The group is forced to leave him behind, leaving Molly devastated.
Robert confronts Jonah at his office, using Karolina’s left behind bracelet to emit a frequency that weakens him, before two church members knock him out. Jonah delivers the wounded Robert to the rest of the Pride, while back at the Hostel, Karolina and Nico have sex while Karolina is glowing! But just to ruin the moment, after Nico falls asleep, Karolina leaves and approaches Leslie, asking to know the truth about Jonah before she decides to help him or not. Speaking of running away from your problems, Gert leaves as well to go to a hospital to get her anxiety medication and the doctor tells her that her parents should be arriving soon.
