“Runaways” Recap: Mi Casa Es Su Casa

“Runaways” continues it’s second season in “Old School,” in which the Runaways adjust to their newest houseguest, who tries to help them take down the Pride. Dale and Stacey make an interesting discovery, while Karolina continues to get to know her father.

New Kid on the Block | The Runaways interrogate Topher, who demonstrates that he has similar powers to Molly- his eyes glow and he gets superhuman strength. Molly, for some reason, is convinced that he is related to her, which is a huge leap to make seeing as the only DNA they share is the ability to speak Spanish.

While the gang catches Topher up to speed on the plot of the show, Karolina once again lies to Nico, claiming that she’s going outside to earn money by dressing nice, when she’s really meeting Jonah. Well, at least Nico tells Karolina that she’s a real life Disney princess, which when you think about it, is right on the money.

Back to School | Alex tries to figure out how they can disrupt the Pride’s dig site and he needs a computer part from the AV room at Atlas Academy.

Topher decides to tag along and help them, but mostly uses this as an excuse to flirt with Nico on the way there. Once they get to the school, the door to the computer room is locked, but Chase knows who has the key. Unfortunately, it’s Eiffel.

Gert, who’s been on a downward spiral without her anxiety medication, tries to get some from the school nurse, who alerts security to her presence. Chase confronts Eiffel in a gender neutral bathroom and tries to get the master key from her, but she wants something in return. Gert arrives just in time to see Chase and Eiffel leave the bathroom together. Ouch.

Father/Daughter Bonding Time | Fortunately, the gang makes it out with the part Alex needs, but Nico confronts Topher about a mysterious substance hidden on his person that she swiped. Meanwhile, Dale and Stacey take a sample from whatever is at the bottom of the dig site and inject it with a serum they whipped up to kill Jonah. It works, but they are forced to scram when Jonah takes Karolina to the hole and offers to show her the truth of her origins by taking her down to the bottom.

“Runaways” is now streaming on Hulu.
