Well that didn’t take long.
Just months after the cancellation of The CW’s Power-ful action drama The Tomorrow People, star Robbie Amell has landed a recurring gig on the network’s buzzy freshman series, The Flash.
The role reunites him with Tomorrow producer Greg Berlanti and once again brings him together with cousin Stephen Amell, who stars on the hit series Arrow which premieres its third season this fall.
Amell boards the Arrow spinoff as Ronnie Raymond, a maintenance worker at S.T.A.R. Labs and fiance of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).
“[Producers] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting,” said executive producer Greg Berlanti. “We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out.”
“I’m so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on The Flash,” Amell said in a statement. “Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can’t wait to get started.”
The Flash is set to air Tuesdays this fall and Robbie Amell makes his debut in episode 3.
