Quantico‘s latest episode takes a break from its usual episode formula to focus on just one situation for once. Alex and the others know who the collaborators are, now they have to try to take them down. But taking them down won’t be easy, it may not even be possible. ‘MHORDER‘ was written by Logan Slakter and Gideon Yago, and directed by Jennifer Lynch.
Divide and Conquer | The team wants to try to turn one of the collaborators against the others, but in order to do that they need them all in one place, but not in contact with each other. What better way to get political figures into the same room than for a party for say, the President’s son’s engagement? After a bit of convincing Maxine (Krysta Rodriguez) agrees to throwing an engagement party as a cover for Clay’s (Hunter Parrish) super secret job.
Just before the party begins Clay admits that he thinks the collaborators are onto them, but goes ahead with the plan anyway. That was the teams first mistake. They had a feeling they had already been made before the mission even began, but went for it anyway. The team has their targets, but not one of them is successful in turning them, that is until Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) does something drastic.
In order to gain a collaborators trust, Ryan convinces her he wants to help them so none of his other friends have to get hurt. He records her admitting she’s behind two murders, and tells her to help them or he will take it to the police. She agrees and says she can get two others to flip too, they just need immunity.

Listen to Alex! | Ryan takes the information he’s gathered back to his team, and they decide he should go meet the collaborators alone and report back in the morning. Alex (Priyanka Chopra) is the only one who doesn’t trust this woman Ryan says he’s flipped. She thinks they’re being setup. And you think that by this point they would lean to trust Alex Parrish’s instincts. But no, they send Ryan alone, and Alex was right. This was their second mistake. There was a reporter waiting for him to capture a CIA operative operating on US soil, which is prohibited. Since this was a President sanctioned operation, the House –lead by Roarke (Dennis Boutsikaris)–are now drafting impeachment papers. Clay and his team has lost.
Or so he thinks. Alex and Owen (Blair Underwood) decide to take matters into their own hands. They swipe Clay’s info on the collaborators and give it to them. Now they think Alex has flipped sides, but she’s really going to bring them down.
Stay Away From My Brother | Caleb (Graham Rogers) is still around in this episode, more so to protect his brother from Shelby (Johanna Braddy) than for any other reason. He believes Shelby is trying to make Clay fall for her and leave his fiancee, but that’s not what’s happening at all. Clay has developed feelings for Shelby, and when he realizes this he asks her to make him hate her again. She’s very hurt by this, but does what he asks. She fakes a one night stand with Caleb and tells Clay she was just projecting her feeling for Caleb onto his brother. We know this isn’t true, but it’s what Clay needs.
Other Thoughts:
- Having Caleb back has been a gift. His song to Roarke was the funniest part of the episode!
- Why doesn’t anyone ever listen to Alex?!? She’s always right about this kind of thing, and Ryan should know that! Maybe if he wasn’t in such a funk about his girlfriend/asset dying in front of him he would have listened.
- The scene between the President and the Speaker of the House was very well done and had a wonderful balance between drama and comedy.
