“Quantico” Tackles The Muslim Ban in Latest Episode ‘ODYOKE’

In their most relevant episode yet, Quantico takes on The Muslim Ban in last nights all-new episode. The special team Alex and the others are on must stop the government from passing this ban that will turn Americans against a particular religion. Will they be able to stop it in time? “ODYOKE” was written by Jordon Nardino and directed by Steve Robin.

She’s Been Set Up | The episode kicks off with Clay (Hunter Parrish) playing squash with a former peer from boarding school,Felix (Jon Kortajarena), and discussing the Muslim registry the conservatives are trying to pass. Felix works as a senior legislative assistant for the Speaker of the House, who is trying to pass the law on the registry.

Back at The Farm, everyone is packing up to spend some much needed time away from this place. That is, until Alex (Priyanka Chopra) runs into Raina (Yasmine Al Massri) who is posing as her sister Nimah (Yasmine Al Massri) to flee from her attackers. She tells Alex how she was attacked and how her apartment looked like Alex’s last year when she was being framed for the bombings. She’s also certain that whoever attacked her also targeted Leon.

Alex gets Raina out of the bar and to the bunker as soon as news stories start flashing on the TV screen about a mall bombing in Ohio. Clay devises a plan of attack for the night; he will go t Capitol Hill with Nimah, Shelby (Johanna Braddy) and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin)–who brings along Sasha (Karolina Wydra). Alex and Owen (Blair Underwood) are tasked with finding whoever is framing Raina. And they do find him. The man was supposed to take Raina’s body to the mall where the bombings occurred, but since he failed he knows his people will be coming to kill him. And they do. Alex and Owen try to protect him, but he’s shot dead in front of Owen, who freezes up after so many years on the sidelines. He later asks Alex for her help returning him back to his glory days.

Alex looks into Leon after Raina revealed that they were looking into the AIC together, and makes an awful discovery. The AIC killed Leon and made it look like a suicide. This really lights a fire under Alex and Owen’s asses to step up their game and make sure Raina doesn’t end up the same way as Leon.

We’ve Been Duped | At Capitol Hill things seem to take a turn. Clay thought he could count on Felix to help him identify the swing votes, but Felix feeds him the wrong names. Shelby realizes the whole plan only after Clay gets kicked out. The Speaker of the House wants the vote to pass but get vetoed by the President, then she will be to blame for all future terrorist attacks, forcing her to resign and the Speaker of the House to take her place. To Shelby’s dismay, Clay tries to prevent his mother from vetoing the registry, but his mother won’t do that. They’ve just played right into their enemies hands.

Other News:

  • Sasha is a Russian “spy”. She occasionally gives information to the FSB in exchange for her parents, who are still there, safety. Ryan doesn’t seem to fully trust her when he hacks into her computer.
  • Nimah and Raina are going to switch places to Raina can help find the AIC while Nimah turns herself in. Talk about sisterly love!
  • Sebastian (David Lim) is following them. How does he play into all of this?

What did you think of Quantico‘s take on the Muslim Ban? How will Clay protect his mother from what is happening in the Capitol? Nimah and Raina were just reunited only to be separated once again, but this time it is because of their love of one another that they’re going their separate ways. Nimah loves Raina so much that she’s willing to turn herself in as Raina to allow her sister to find the real culprits. Now that Owen is back in the field he realizes just how rusty he is, but was there something more to his request to have Alex train with him?

Quantico airs Mondays at 10pm on ABC.
