“The Originals” set off yet another mystical and bloodshed filled party in “Bag of Cobras,” in which the Mikaelsons host a party to try to weed out their enemies. Klaus discovers Sophya’s secret weapon and Hayley finds out more about her parents.

There was tons of back and forth mystery going on this week. First up, Klaus met Sophya, who turns out to want the Originals dead because Klaus killed her family 500 years ago. While that was going on, Sophya’s partner Dominic offered a deal to Elijah, promising to spare the Mikaelsons if they gave up Vincent and Marcel. There was good parallel action with these two stories and in a cool reversal, Elijah refuses the deal and kills Dominic, while Klaus lets Sophya walk unscathed, further showing how these two have changed over the course of the show.
Hayley also found her parents’ house and a secret storage unit with an ancient bone, that she found relatively quickly given how much was in there. Turns out the bone is part of a witch that could be the key to the Hollow, giving the rest of the season a kind of treasure hunt vibe to find the other bones.
“Bag of Cobras” was a fun episode with intrigue, bloodshed and some cool character moments. This season is really starting to hit its stride, so things can only go up from here.
