Leighton Meester’s Croatia Getaway Turns Deadly in “The Weekend Away” Trailer

Netflix has released the trailer for a new thriller starring Leighton Meester (“Gossip Girl”). The Weekend Away was written by Sarah Alderson and directed by Kim Farrant.

Based on the book by Alderson, the flick is set to premiere on the streaming service this spring.

A weekend getaway to Croatia goes awry when a woman (Leighton Meester) is accused of killing her best friend and her efforts to get to the truth uncover a painful secret.

In addition to Meester “Beth,” the cast also includes Christina Wolfe “Kate,” Ziad Bakri “Zain,” and Luke Norris “Rob.”

The Weekend Away debuts Marc 2 only on Netflix.
