Netflix on Tuesday announced a new comedy flick, Senior Year, which will debut on the streaming service in late spring. In addition to a release date, the streaming giant also released a first-look image (above) with its star and producer Rebel Wilson.
After a cheerleader falls off a pyramid and into a 20-year coma, she wakes up as a 37-year-old woman, ready to return to high school, regain her status and claim the prom queen crown that eluded her.
Senior Year is like the wildly funny love child of BRING IT ON and NEVER BEEN KISSED. It will literally bring ‘cheer’ into your homes! I can’t wait for everyone to see SENIOR YEAR on Netflix this May 13,” said Wilson in a statement.
The Netflix original movie was directed by Alex Hardcastle with a story by Andrew Knauer & Arthur Pielli and screenplay by Andrew Knauer & Arthur Pielli and Brandon Scott Jones.
In addition to Wilson, Senior Year also stars Alicia Silverstone, Justin Hartley, Angourie Rice, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland and Chris Parnell.
Senior Year releases globally on May 13 only on Netflix.
