Renewed for Fourth & Final Season

After a turbulent journey in finding a new home for the NBC thriller, Manifest is heading to its final destination over at Netflix. The streaming giant announced Saturday morning, 8/28 (get it?), that it has renewed the much-buzzed-about series for a fourth and final season.

Since its cancellation and subsequent rumblings of the series being shopped elsewhere, fans have been hoping for good news. Many manifesters have even been glued to social media early in the morning before the announcement came, and were certainly excited when it did.

Manifest‘s arrival to Netflix will come in the form of a super-sized final season comprised of 20 episodes. And given that Netflix loves to hack up seasons into several parts, it’s no surprise that it will be doing the same for these twenty episodes.

The number of parts, episodes within each part, and the launch dates are yet to be determined. Though the infamous plane is a Boeing 737, we’re thinking it would be kinda neat if the episodes were split into three parts: 7-6-7, perhaps?

“Since its premiere on Netflix in June, Manifest has proven very popular with our members,” Bela Bajaria, Netflix Head of Global TV, said in a statement. “Jeff Rake and his team have crafted a beguiling mystery that has viewers around the world on the edge of their seats and believing again in second chances, and we’re thrilled that they will bring fans some closure with this final super-sized season.”

When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. Yet in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years — and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance.

But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible in this emotionally rich, unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart, and destiny.
