We are just days away from the return of NBC’s hit series Grimm, and at the start, Monroe and Rosalee will find themselves in the epicenter of the Wesen uprising, no longer wanting to be the “other” anymore.
“We want to be who we really are which is kind of overturning centuries and centuries of tradition which is that your inner being is something separate from the normal world and you have to own that and live within that stricture,” Monroe’s portrayer Silas Weir Mitchell explains.
“Everybody has their unconscious stuff. So the parallel to the real world is great and it’s basically the unconscious bursting out, being like, ‘I will not be hidden anymore!'”
Mitchell understands that everyone always says the newer season of their respective shows will be better, but for the upcoming season, he really does believe that statement is true.
“I actually think it’s going to be a really good season,” he says. “I feel like last year the show kind of went in six different directions at once and now they’ve really paired the story lines down so there’s kind of one big event that is sort of galvanizing all of the characters in one thing which is this Wesen uprising thing. It’s a great story line because it impacts everybody equally — some I guess more than others. It’s a shock wave that everybody is in the wake of.”
Grimm Season 5 premieres Friday, October 30 on NBC.
