It’s been a couple seasons since Jacqueline Toboni made her debut on NBC’s supernatural drama Grimm. Her character Trubel injected new life into the series and brought a great, new dynamic to Nick’s (David Giuntoli) Scooby Squad.
Last season, when Executive Producer Noberto Barba told OMFGTV that a “really bad” death was looming, we feared that the fan favorite’s guest-star status made Trubel a high possibility that it would be she who would meet her end.
Fortunately, Trubel is still alive and kicking (literally!) and will even return when the series premieres for it’s sixth and final season on January 6.

When OMFGTV last visited the drama’s Portland set, we — after noticing quite a big absence from Trubel in season 5 — asked star Jacqueline Toboni on her thoughts of being a recurring guest star rather than a full-fledged series regular, because we just love her so much.
“I actually don’t mind,” Toboni tells us. “It’s fun because you get to leave and come back and you don’t know where your storyline is going. It’s not like they’re writing a storyline just to write it just because I’m up here. It means they’re much more focused on giving me some good stuff. There’s no fluff, which is nice.”
She adds that she likes that the writers and producers keep the cast and guest stars guessing on when, where and how their characters will turn up.

As for where she would like to see her character and the show go, Toboni would like Grimm to go “on a global level, taking on some huge issues, but also will speak to a lot of the country on really exciting things.”
“We’re going to tackle global warming,” quips fellow co-star Claire Coffee.
“Climate change for sure,” Toboni says with a grin. “Trubel is on it with a machete.”
Grimm Season 6 premieres Friday, January 6, at 8pm on NBC.
