Grimm’s Claire Coffee Talks Adalind’s Challenges & New Threat

Heading into Grimm‘s final season, we were absolutely curious to know what’s coming up next for Nick’s (David Giuntoli) baby mama, Adalind Schade.

OMFGTV sat down with the adorable actress where she talked about her character’s problem child and the new threat that resurfaced at the end of last season.

“The first episode back, Adalind’s still at the mansion but she does get a chance to connect with Nick and check in,” Coffee tells us. She says that revealing the secret location of their loft was to protect Kelly and Diana, which Nick is understanding of, “so there’s no ill will between them.”

From the final chapter’s first promo (above), it is very clear that Diana is a force to be reckoned with. Keeping her in check, however, may prove to be difficult.

In addition to getting back to the loft and reconnecting with Nick, Coffee says that “wrangling Diana and trying to figure out how to get her to use per powers for good,” are just some of the challenges she’ll face this season.

“What’s standing in her way big time right now is Renard and this ring, Black Claw, obviously. That’s a formidable opponent. That’s what’s first and foremost on Adalind’s agenda.”

Renard isn’t the only one standing in her way; the possible return of Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch) may make things harder for “Nadalind” to reconnect.

“Sure,” she says of Eve/Juliette being a possible threat. “I don’t know how long it’ll take Adalind to figure out that Eve is starting to have feelings, but that certainly does threaten [Nick and Adalind’s] home life.”

Throughout Grimm‘s run, Claire Coffee went from being a character we loved to hate, to being a character we just loved. The San Francisco-native says that her time on the show has been a blessing.

“Adalind has been four characters in one at this point so it’s been really fun for me to get to follow her along from guest star-evil henchman to mother times two and now love interest to Nick — part of this love triangle with Juliette and Eve. It’s been quite an epic journey.”

Grimm Season 6 premieres Friday, January 6, at 8pm on NBC.
