This week’s episode of National Treasure: Edge of History turns up the paranoia to eleven as Jess believes that one of their own is selling them out to Billie, while they try to sneak into a black tie event to find the next clue. Lots to dive into this week, so let’s go!
Gathering Clues | While Jess (Lisette Olivera) is invited by Liam (Jake Austin Walker) to go to the Governor’s museum to see Merriwether Lewis’s journal, Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) offers a black market dealer a priceless artifact in exchange for Cortez’s journal, which is more likely to hold the next clue. Jess and Ethan (Jordan Rodrigues) covertly go to the museum and overhear Liam asking someone to wire him money so he can get tickets for the Governor’s Ball, where the journal will be on display. Tasha (Zuri Reed) hacks Liam’s bank account and sees $50,000 appear out of nowhere, leading Jess to outright confront Liam about him being the mole, which gets Liam very angry at her for assuming it was him.

Bugged | Billie brings the journal to a Mayan translator, who immediately figures out that the journal was a fake due to irregularities in the handwriting. Jess and Tasha get a visit from Oren (Antonio Cipriano), who accidentally sets off a metal detector that Tasha follows to find a bug in the new shoes he was given by Billie, ruling out Liam. As such, Jess apologizes to Liam and he explains that the 50K came from his mom to cover the costs of Sadusky’s house. Billie’s surveillance tracks down their invite to the ball and Billie figures out that the real journal is likely there. Elsewhere, Agent Ross (Lyndon Smith) remembers Jess’s crazy story about Oren’s kidnapping and calls in for security camera footage from the museum where she first met Billie.
Do the Dance | Jess, Liam, Tasha and Oren, along with Ethan and his new girlfriend Meena (Salena Qureshi) all roll up to the Ball with a plot to snag the journal during the Governor’s birthday celebration. While killing time, the band plays Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and Oren encourages Jess and Ethan to do a dance routine that they did to the same song at prom. They light up the dance floor, but Meena realizes watching them that Ethan is really into Jess and she walks out. As the birthday celebration begins, Liam sneaks off and steals the journal and when Jess goes after him, she gets caught by security. They chase her outside, but then Billie pulls up in a car and orders Jess to get in, which she does as they drive off.
