“Teen Wolf” EP Jeff Davis on Season 5 Flashbacks & Malia’s Quest

In the Season 5 opener of MTV’s supernatural wolf drama Teen Wolf, viewers watched in awe as teases of visions of what’s to come flashed before our eyes, courtesy of Lydia.

mtv-teen-wolf-flashbacks-lydia-eichen-houseExecutive Producer Jeff Davis explains that that reveal of Lydia in Eichen House is now currently the present and the segments that were teased had already happened, something that the series will eventually play out in the near future.

“You’re going to see each of those flashbacks played out,” Davis reveals. “One is going to be in [the second half of the season]. We play a lot with timeline this season, so we like the whole idea that this season is essentially a flashback.”

“We threw a curve ball in episode three of Stilinski going out with Natalie Martin, but you’ll see,” he continues. “There’s the slap that happens at the end of [the season premiere]. You’ll see why that happens but we definitely pair them up later in the season for more. Whether they get together or not, I can’t say yet.”

As for when we’ll return to the present time after all these events have transpired, Davis is keeping that secret, but he does say that it will not be at the end of Season 5.

Before Season 5 is over, however, a big turn in episode 8 will happen with Malia’s ongoing quest to locate her mother.

“The desert wolf is coming back into our story,” Davis previews. “It’s going to be fun. There’s a big backstory that also involves Thalia Hale, Derek’s mother. So the Hale’s will come back into the story at some point.”

Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10pm on MTV.
