“We Will F*ck You Up!”

MTV has released a cute and clever promo for its freshman dramedy series Sweet/Vicious, touting the accomplishments of its fictional Darlington University.

“At Darlington,” Jules and Ophelia say in the spot, “students learn to push through boundaries, how to make an impact, and really leave a mark!” Just don’t touch a girl without consent.

Just as the title of the show says, the promo below starts off sweet– and ends vicious! We CAN’T WAIT for this show!

mtv-sweet-vicious-darlington-teaser-promo-2We have a little theory on how the show’s creators came up with the name “Darlington University.” Back when the show was in its early stages of development, a previous iteration of the series was not only a half-hour show and set in Princeton University, but the working title of the show was originally called “Little Darlings.”

Thank goodness the show didn’t stick with that title, because it doesn’t quite grab your attention as the the title Sweet/Vicious does. We’re guessing Princeton didn’t want to be affiliated with the show since it centers on sexual assault victims, so when coming up with a new name, we believe creators kept the “Darlings” from the original title and thus created “Darlington University”!

mtv-fall-sizzle-reel-sweet-viciousStarring Taylor Dearden (“Ophelia”) and Eliza Bennett (“Jules”), Sweet/Vicious is an offbeat superhero story for the millennial generation. Hell-bent on bringing justice to those who get away with abuse on their college campus, Jules and Ophelia take on double lives as wannabe vigilantes. Filled with clumsy attempts and missteps, the odd-couple pair of antiheroes must balance their new secret life with best friends, parents, love interests, and the metaphorical monsters under their beds.

At the core of the f*cked up, hilarious, heartbreaking world of Jules and Ophelia is the heart of the show: two girls, who never felt like they belonged, finding a home in each other… and trying to kick a lot of ass.

Sweet/Vicious premieres Tuesday, November 15th, at 10pm on MTV.
