Can you Switches believe there are only two episodes left?!? Tonight’s episode of Motherland: Fort Salem was another crazy and information filled adventure! Tally trades her Sight, Raelle and Scylla reunite, and the core four surrenders to the Army! ‘Petra’s Favorite Pen’ was written by Nicole Avenia and Tom Hanada and directed by the awesome Jem Garrard.

The Trade | With Alder’s (Lyne Renée) guidance Tally (Jessica Sutton) is able to use her Sight to see into the past. She sees where one Steward is trapped in ice in a cave in Northern Germany, so the two head there. Before they enter the cave Tally makes Alder promise to leave her behind if she must, saying “all that matters is the song.” They enter the cave and eventually find the frozen Steward. Alder knows that Stewards can transfer their songs to witches, they just have to figure out how to facilitate it. Before they can figure that out the witch wakes up and speaks through Tally, she doesn’t want to help them. Then she begins to freeze Tally. Oh no!

Alder acts quickly and cuts off the witch’s arm, but that triggers a cave in to begin. They need to get out of there but Tally won’t leave without the piece of the First Song. Tally offers the Steward her Sight in a trade for the First Song piece, and the Steward accepts. After the exchange Tally and Alder need to get out of the cave, but only Tally makes it out. Alder sacrifices her safety and makes Tally get to safety since she is now a Steward.

Colonel Jarrett’s Demise | Petra (Catherine Lough Haggquist) has a meeting with President Silver (Victor Webster), and he is not happy that the Army isn’t crushing the Cession. Later, Colonel Jarrett (Aaron Douglas) tries to get into Petra’s head, but instead she links her pen to his heart. She steadily taps her pen faster and faster until Jarrett has a heart attack and dies and her pen breaks. She seems very satisfied with the outcome. Later when Silver comes looking for Jarrett the Colonel walks in and sells himself to the President. After Silver leaves he reveals himself to actually be Sterling, using the Spree face work. It looks like Petra is much more open to using off-canon work than she once used to be.

The Surrender | Raelle (Taylor Hickson), Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams), and Adil (Tony Giroux) learn from an injured cadet that Raelle healed that Scylla (Amalia Holm) is being kept prisoner at the Slaughter House. The trio go after Scylla, and devise a brilliant way of getting inside. Abigail and Adil pretended to be drunk and it was hilarious! They find and free Scylla inside and she is finally able to reunite with Raelle, and it was a beautiful moment.

When the group arrives back at the Cession border they find chaos, Abigail creates a hail storm, but it’s too late and many don’t survive, including Lupe (Lina Lecompte).

Later, Tally has reunited with the group and fills them in on what happened with her and Alder. The group decides as a whole that they can’t let any more witches die for them, they need to surrender. Which they do, to Petra in front of the media, but not before Raylla get engaged!!!
