What a crazy episode of Motherland: Fort Salem! M and President Wade are alive! Scylla contacts Raelle, and Tally sees something that might be world-ending. ‘Happy Yule!’ was written by Nicole Avenia and directed by Shannon Kohli. Here’s what went down in the wild episode!
Yule | The episode begins with Silver (Victor Webster) being sworn in as President, confirming that President Wade (Sheryl Lee Ralph) is dead. It’s Yule time at Le Chasseur and the Marshal (Michael Horse) is making sure they celebrate. The group catches up, and Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams) is reunited with Petra (Catherine Lough Haggquist). Khalida (Kylee Brown) also summons Alder (Lyne Renée) and the pair head off to find the other Stewards of the First Song. We also learn pretty quickly that President Wade is actually still alive! They staged her death to protect her and switched her body with a golem, so her and M (Ess Hödlmoser) are alive and unharmed. Our group is going to meet with The Council of the Great River to seek help in defeating the Camarilla.
Khalida and Alder use the Marshal’s intel to find the Steward of the stolen piece of the song and return it to her.

Scylla (Amalia Holm) continues to try to contact Raelle (Taylor Hickson) by summoning a deathcap from a dead mouse, but to no avail. Nicte (Kandyse McClure) thinks Rae is dead and that Scylla is strong while angry about Raelle, but Scylla corrects the Spree leader. It’s not anger but love. She loves Raelle. Later Scylla tries again to contact Rae, but she uses the Yule Goat’s heart and has everyone help her. It doesn’t seem to work at first, but as everyone else leaves a glowing “R” appears in mushrooms and we hear Raelle’s voice whisper, “Scyll.” It worked!
A little later we see a very telling conversation between Abigail and Adil (Tony Giroux) where Abi tells him she just might be interested in having his babies. After they clear their names, of course. We also see Scylla and Nicte bond and learn a little about Nicte’s backstory and childhood.
Tally (Jessica Sutton) and M have a VERY important and long overdue conversation about M’s journey being nonbinary in the magic world. Then M tells Tally that they see Tally for who she truly is, which I think is something she really needed to hear.
Later, Tally sees something with her Sight, and it’s definitely not good. She might end the world.
After, M and President Wade have to leave before the group goes to see the Council.

Glass Cases | We already knew the Camarilla sucked, but this episode we see just how barbaric they can be. After being sworn in as President, Silver introduces his Civilian Oversight to basically snitch on the military.
Later, we see Hearst (Bob Frazer) trying out his new vocal cords at an underground Camarilla event hosted by Silver. The Camarilla have captured witches from the military and the Spree and put them in glass cages to fight each other to the death. Anacostia (Demetria McKinney) and Sterling (Luc Roderique) are in a box, and eventually made to fight Vira (Melanie Rose Wilson) and another member of the Spree. Vira uses work that makes Sterling stab himself in the stomach and we don’t yet know his fate. Anacostia makes quick work of the Spree after that.
We also learn that Kara Brandt (Emilie Ullerup) and Alban Hearst are siblings, barf!
