Freeform’s Motherland: Fort Salem just hit us with another awesome episode! We see who has the cool new power from the desert, a creepy dollhouse, and a reluctant and unlikely duo. ‘Abomination’ was written by Brian Studler and directed by Amanda Tapping.
Tested | The episode begins with Raelle (Taylor Hickson) and Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams) being tested, trying to make their new power emerge again. But they don’t have any luck. No matter what Izadora (Emilie Leclerc) throws at them, they can’t replicate what happened before. Alder (Lyne Renée) ends what they’re doing and tells the cadets to go meet Tally (Jessica Sutton) for War College. But after they leave, she makes it clear that she’s not done testing their abilities.
Alder and Izadora meet in the room with the Mycelium so Izadora can show Alder what came from the site where Raelle and Abigail exhibited their new power. On the table is a head covered in mushrooms. Izadora says it’s not even human anymore. Alder wants to weaponize Raelle and Abigail’s ability to mushroomify people so they can use it in the fight against the Camarilla.
War College | The Cadets have made it to War College! They meet their coven and begin to take classes. Tally decides to take Penelope Silver (Mellany Barros) under her wing to make sure she’s ready for her upcoming Basic Training. One of their classes tests them out by throwing them into a giant dollhouse that plays tricks with their minds. Of course Tally figures out how to get out [and sets a new record]!
Raelle and Abigail are taken during the dollhouse exercise and put into a different type of exercise. Izadora has figured out Raelle has a connection to the Mycelium and is probably the one with the new ability, not Abigail. So she makes Raelle think both her life and Abigail’s were in danger, and it worked, Raelle protected herself with some sort of cocoon. She’s now the military’s biggest asset.

Teaming Up | Scylla (Amalia Holm) and Willa Collar (Diana Pavlovská) discuss the Camarilla. they know they are back and the next big threat. Scylla has been keeping tabs on rallies she thinks the Camarilla are behind, and goes to one. It’s for the one year anniversary of the Spree attack Scylla was responsible for.
Anacostia (Demetria McKinney) is also there, and also learning about the Camarilla. She no longer trusts Alder and wants to partner up with Scylla to take down the Caramilla. They go out for drinks with a couple who seems to know a lot about who is behind the rallies and who carry an awful lot of cash.
